Fall mini sessions in Virginia are back—and I can’t wait to share this season’s dates with you! Each year, these sessions become more and more meaningful, and the excitement to open my calendar only grows. Fall is the one time of year when you can get dressed up, embrace the crisp weather, and capture your family’s love and energy in a quick, joy-filled session.
This year, I’ve expanded my mini session offerings to include even more families across the state. Whether you’re based in Richmond or Northern Virginia, you’ll find a beautiful location that’s perfect for your portraits.
What’s New This Year
The biggest difference for 2021? I’ve added more variety in both dates and locations to make booking easier for more families. I’m offering sessions across five different dates at some of my favorite spots in the state, each chosen for its beautiful light and timeless backdrop.
Here’s what’s available:
On Friday, September 17, I’ll be at the historic grounds of Tuckahoe in Tuckahoe, VA starting at 3:30 p.m. Then, just a couple days later, I’ll head north to Manassas National Battlefield Park on Sunday, September 19—also beginning at 3:30 p.m.
October brings even more beautiful light. I’ll be in Richmond at Libby Hill Park on Tuesday, October 12 at 3:30 p.m., followed by sessions at Waterfront Park in Alexandria on Friday, October 22 starting at 4:00 p.m. Finally, we’ll wrap things up at Carillon Memorial in Richmond on Sunday, October 24, with sessions starting at 3:30 p.m.
These are the only fall mini dates I’ll be offering this year, and they do fill quickly—so if one speaks to you, I encourage you to grab your spot early.

Holiday Minis at the Tree Farm
If you’re dreaming of something a little more festive, you’re in luck. I’m also offering holiday mini sessions at a local Christmas tree farm in Fluvanna. These cozy, seasonal sessions are perfect for holiday cards or capturing that nostalgic feeling of winter. You can find full details and available dates for those right here. What You’ll Receive
Each fall mini session includes 20 minutes of relaxed, guided photography. We’ll get a mix of both candid and lightly posed shots—some with everyone together, some with individual groupings, and all with the warmth and joy you’d expect from a session with me.
After your session, you’ll receive a gallery of hand-edited images with a fast turnaround time. From that gallery, you’ll get to choose your favorite 10 images to download, with the option to add more or purchase the full gallery if you just can’t decide. A full print release is included with your selected images, so you’re free to print and share however you like.
Who Mini Sessions Are For
These sessions are designed for families who are available on the listed dates and open to the location chosen. They work especially well for little ones who warm up quickly, couples looking for an easy and meaningful photo refresh, or anyone who wants to update their images without committing to a full session. They’re also perfect for maternity or anniversary photos—short, sweet, and full of life.
How to Book
Booking your session is simple and only takes a few minutes. Just visit the Fall Mini Sessions booking page, select your preferred location and time, fill in your contact details, sign the quick session agreement, answer a short questionnaire, and submit payment. Once that’s done, you’re all set!
