Patrick and Adrian were first married in January 2024, during an intimate ceremony with just their closest friends and family—a quiet, heartfelt moment that honored the depth of their love. But from the beginning, they knew they wanted to celebrate again—this time with everyone who had supported them through the years. Their Woodside Farms wedding near Richmond, Virginia, was more than just a second celebration. It was a joyful, intentional day that honored their journey and the community that helped shape it.
Instead of getting ready separately, Patrick and Adrian chose to spend the morning together in a cozy stone house on the farm, with their sweet fur baby, Marlo, by their side. The air was peaceful, and even a little rain at the start of the day couldn’t dampen the mood. As they adjusted each other’s ties and took deep breaths before the ceremony, the love between them was unmistakable.
Throughout the morning, thoughtful details unfolded: embroidered guestbooks, delicate florals, and brunch tables set with hand-picked elements. Their getting-ready time was not only beautiful but grounding—a calm before the joy that would follow.
Soon, the clouds cleared, and the ceremony began beneath a floral arch with soft spring tones. Because this was not their first wedding, Patrick and Adrian chose to center the experience around community and symbolism. During the handfasting ritual, each member of their wedding party stepped forward, offering a meaningful quote before helping fasten a ribbon around their joined hands. It was one of the most moving parts of the day.
In addition, the couple ensured the ceremony was fully inclusive. One of the groom’s mothers is deaf, so two ASL interpreters were present, making sure every word and vow could be experienced equally. That small detail carried so much weight—it reflected how deeply Patrick and Adrian care for the people around them.
Of course, their kiss beneath the arch brought cheers, tears, and applause from their guests.
After the ceremony, the party truly began. Because they love brunch, Patrick and Adrian created a morning reception filled with heart. Guests were treated to mimosas, waffles, seasonal quiche, and make-your-own parfaits, all served outdoors under bright skies. Lawn games, disposable cameras, and laughter filled the air.
Their cake—topped with a playful piggyback groom figurine—was a fan favorite. Not to mention, their toast was one of the most heartfelt I’ve ever witnessed. Family members smiled from Adirondack chairs and clinked glasses under the shade. As a result, the entire day felt both elevated and deeply personal.
From the harpist’s ceremony music to the quiet way Patrick and Adrian held each other as the sun rose higher in the sky, this wedding was full of moments that mattered. More importantly, it was full of joy. Their Woodside Farms wedding was a full-circle celebration—one where love was felt in every detail, word, and embrace.
Patrick and Adrian, thank you for letting me witness this chapter of your story. It was an honor to document your day and to be part of such a beautiful celebration of love, intention, and community.
