This warm September golden hour mini session at the Bon Air Rose Garden was extra special. I had the joy of photographing the Fuerst family for their second year in a row as a mini session family. Watching families return year after year is one of my favorite parts of offering seasonal mini sessions.
September evenings bring the softest light, cooler air, and just enough warmth to keep things relaxed. It is the perfect time for young families to slow down and simply be together.
The Fuerst family came back for another golden hour mini session, and it was such a gift to see how much their little ones had grown. Returning families already feel comfortable in front of the camera. That comfort shows in the images.
Instead of stiff posing, we focused on connection. We let moments unfold naturally. The result is a gallery full of laughter, curiosity, and genuine interaction.
The Bon Air Rose Garden truly shines in early fall. The roses are still blooming, and the greenery feels full and lush. During golden hour, the light filters beautifully through the garden paths.
September sessions also feel calmer than peak summer dates. Families can move easily through the space, and kids have room to explore. That freedom always leads to more authentic images.
Golden hour mini sessions are short, relaxed, and intentional. They are designed to capture connection without feeling rushed. The light does most of the work, creating soft skin tones and a warm glow.
These sessions work especially well for families with young children. There is time to play, cuddle, and reset when needed. Even a brief session can create a full gallery of meaningful images.
This session felt like everything September should be. Warm light. Barefoot moments. Roses still in bloom. The Fuerst family leaned into the experience, and it shows in every frame.
Golden hour minis are about preserving seasons of life as they are. No pressure. No perfection. Just real moments, beautifully documented.
