I absolutely love it when my past wedding couples return almost yearly for a sweetheart session. I have always been a strong advocate for making time for just you and your partner. May it be date nights, a quiet dinner at home, or more excitedly a yearly sweetheart session to show how your love has grown over the years.

When I reached out to Ashley back in March to start planning or discussing our session together I could feel the excitement in every message passed back and forth. But as we all remember March brought with it a massive Stay-at-Home order for all of Virginia and the start of a Worldwide Pandemic that ultimately caused us to reschedule our session together 3 times before we could safely meet Barboursville Ruins.

The day was crazy hot and the location was perfectly in season laying the most beautiful backdrop to our time together. If you have never made the short drive out to Barboursville Vineyard (also the home to the Ruins) I could not recommend more that you visit in 2021. Barboursville is not only a highly awarded vineyard, but a B&B with several cottages on the property, and a nationally recognized park. It is a favorite local location for my portrait sessions.
