If 2020 taught me anything in my own business it was really how important community really is. Yeah I have a team of second shooters that I call on when I need a second set of hands on a wedding day or at a session, but if COVID-19 showed us anything we need a team and systems in place for when the un-thinkable comes along. We need a clear way to still service our couples that allows us to also rest easy when the times are the toughest.
One of those systems is our community. But how does this relate to this session share for Bailey & Jaron? Well that community is what allowed Bailey & Jaron to still have their scheduled engagement session in April. See a good friend of mine with Scott with f/ Scott Photography out of Hampton Roads, Bailey & Jaron is actually his amazing couple and getting married later this fall at Lewis Ginter. But just 2 days before their scheduled engagement session Scott started to show signs of possible exposure to Covid. Doing the right thing Scott immediately reached out to Bailey & Jaron, letting them know.
His next call was out to his community looking for an associate photographer to step in and help keep this couples session on track. Scott and I have covered several weddings together in the past and we really work well together as a team, so when he needed help and my schedule was open I jumped on the offer to help.
Scott got the chance to start home, quarantine and recover while knowing his couple was being well taken care of at their engagement session. And I got to spend 2 wonderful hours in the heart of Springtime at Lewis Ginter with Bailey & Jaron. Here are some of my favorites for this session, and I hope the best for them as their Fall Wedding quickly approaches.
I am extremely happy to share that Scott fully recovered from COVID-19 and he is happily back photographing couples and dance companies in Hampton Roads.
