Mary and Jason’s DC War Memorial wedding was a dream! Not only did they host their wedding at one of my favorite locations, but they also had a sunrise wedding! This unique timeframe made for a relaxed wedding day. By scheduling a morning wedding the couple was able to get in and get out without a ton of time to stress over the details.
Mary and Jason’s wedding day took place at sunrise on May 23, 2021 in the heart of D.C. We were unfortunately at the height of the cicada invasion (ask me for stories sometime!) but it was a warm spring day, and we didn’t let the cicadas stop us! I had just spent the day before their wedding at a very traditional wedding. To wake up before dawn for Mary and Jason’s wedding the next morning and immediately start photographing another wedding was like a never-ending high!
Mary wore her mother’s wedding dress for the day. This was extra special, because Mary lost her mom at a very young age. She is a full-on girl’s girl, and she made such a gorgeous bridge. Mary met Jason at work. On their first date, they went out for extra spicy Indian food. Luckily they are both big fans of Indian food, or it could have made for a challenging first date! As you can see, it all worked out.
The wedding day was so sweet and unique. The look Jason had in his eyes for his bride was like there was no one else in the world but her. This romantic love, paired with a beautiful, quiet morning sunrise made for a picture-perfect wedding day. Check out some of my favorites from their DC War Memorial wedding below!
