Katie and Austin opted for sunrise engagement photos in DC at the US Capitol Building for their engagement session. The morning felt joyous and these two were just absorbed in their love story. It was so sweet, and the images are just as beautiful.
Austin and Katie both love walking the streets of DC, so shooting their engagement photos in DC at the US Capitol was an obvious choice! They just wanted to take photos that capture the city where they met. We planned a full session around some specific locations around the US Capitol, mostly around the side that was not currently under construction. However, as I pulled up to the Capitol at 6:00am, the Secret Service had that entire side of the building shut down with zero access.
On the fly, we had to regroup and adjust our original storyboards for the morning’s session. I think it turned out even better than I could have even imagined! This is the perfect example of trusting your photographer and being flexible when it comes to wedding and engagement photos.
Katie and Austin got engaged at Shenandoah National Park. They both love spending time with friends and family, and God holds a very special place in their relationship together. They are a sweet couple that you can tell are just a perfect fit! I can’t wait for their wedding day is coming up on October 1st! In the meantime, I’ll be over here admiring these DC engagement pictures!
