Karli and Nate had to plan their wedding date a few times thanks to covid this year, but that didn’t slow them down one bit. Originally Karli had planned her dream wedding for her family’s land in the beautiful rolling hills of Hillsville, Virginia on a warm May afternoon, but as the Covid infection number rose so did the couples concern for their elderly family members that lived on the property.
So in the best of hopes Karli and Nate decided to postpone their wedding until September 25th, but again as September approached they were worried of the rising covid cases, and their hi-risk family members. I remember the phone call from Karli like it was yesterday, They decided to still keep their September date but elope with just their parents to witness. We talked over location options alone the blue ridge trail, turning a originally planned for 200 person wedding into just less than ten in attendance and videographers to cover the date. A few short weeks later Karli called again with their beautiful location selected… Pharsalia!
What better than a location nestled in the beautiful 360 degree mountain views, historic charm, and healthy florals to fill your heart. It was truly the perfect location for Karli and Nate to start their lives together as Husband and Wife. As true minimonies go Karli only had her mother to help her dress, and the ceremony was witnessed by only family and best friends.
Minimonies are definitely a new wedding type (thanks Covid-19) BUT I have to say as a photographer given such a beautiful location I LOVE that I didn’t have to rush to meet a timeline for the guests. We were able to fully appreciate this amazing venue for all the couples portraits we could come up with while the parents enjoyed the views with a glass of bubbly.

I know this is what you originally had envisioned for your wedding day, but it turned out like a dream. I wish you all the years of happiness as Mr. & Mrs. Nelson. And while Nate continues his education and applying for grad schools I hope love follows you wherever your next chapters take you.
