I first spoke with Lacey & Garrett over the phone back in 2019! At the time they were planning a beautiful outdoor waterfront ceremonies at one of Richmond’s newer wedding venues. They had planned to travel the to Ashland over 8 hours from Atlanta to exchange their vows and become husband and wife in June of 2020. Garrett grew up in Richmond and always knew he wanted to have his wedding close to home, but Lacey didn’t grow up too far from Virginia. Growing up just a bit north in Delaware she knew Oakdale was in the perfect spot for both of their families.
Then we all know what happened next, COVID came in and put a hold on their dream wedding like it did for so many couples in the last 18 months. So on their original wedding date the have a private ceremony with just their closest family member at the church where they first meet in Atlanta. Then quickly revising their 2020 plans into a 1 year vow renewal as husband and wife for all their friends.
The day turned out so beautiful. The temperatures were high but we were also blessed with lots of clouds that provided for the perfect light all through the ceremony. Their 2nd big day turned out so beautiful thanks to everyone that pitched in to bring this vow renewal out of Lacey’s dreams and into reality.
