Late pregnancy maternity sessions hold a quiet kind of magic. This session took place just weeks before this couple welcomed their baby boy, and it marked their second maternity session with me. Photographing families again during such an important season always feels deeply meaningful.
By the final weeks of pregnancy, everything slows down in the best way. There is anticipation, calm, and a sense of grounding as parents prepare to meet their baby. That feeling shaped this entire session.
The Bon Air Rose Garden offered the perfect setting for this late pregnancy maternity session. The garden was full of greenery, soft blooms, and winding paths that allowed us to move gently through the space. The environment felt peaceful and unhurried, which matched the pace of the session beautifully.
Late afternoon light filtered through the garden and wrapped everything in a soft glow. We took our time, letting moments unfold naturally rather than rushing from spot to spot. This approach created images that feel relaxed, connected, and timeless.
Because this was their second maternity session, the couple arrived feeling comfortable and confident. They knew what to expect, which allowed them to focus fully on each other and the moment they were in. Instead of posing, we focused on connection.
Hands rested naturally on a growing belly. Quiet smiles and shared glances filled the session. These small moments often become the most meaningful images later on, especially once the baby arrives.
Late pregnancy sessions deserve just as much attention as earlier maternity sessions. This chapter represents the final stretch before life changes completely. It is a season worth documenting and remembering.
Late pregnancy maternity sessions capture a unique emotional space. The excitement remains, but it feels grounded and calm. Parents often reflect more during this time, and that reflection shows up beautifully in photographs.
The Bon Air Rose Garden continues to be one of my favorite locations for maternity sessions. It offers variety, privacy, and a natural softness that photographs well throughout the year. For late pregnancy sessions in particular, it provides space to slow down and connect.
I am incredibly grateful to have photographed this couple again as they prepared to meet their son. Watching families return at different stages of motherhood is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.
