Crozet, Virginia has this certain magic about it, doesn’t it? Well, that magic was all the more special on the day Kristen and Keanna tied the knot. Their love story, which began in a classroom in San Diego and took them all the way to Yokosuka, Japan, found its most beautiful chapter written amidst the mountains of the Montfair Resort Farm.
You know what’s funny? Despite being stationed together in Japan, it was Virginia that called to them. And I can see why. Between those stunning mountain views at Montfair, the cozy onsite lodgings, and yes, the pet-friendly policy (super important for fur-parents like them), it’s no wonder they felt drawn to this place.
Speaking of surprises, both brides decided to keep their dresses a secret from each other. The anticipation was real! And when they finally revealed their outfits—oh, the beauty! Both in stunning white dresses, echoing their personalities, and yet so harmoniously complementing each other.
I have to give a shout-out to their families. They came up with this touching ‘memory lane’ installation. Such a sweet journey into Kristen and Keanna’s past. And talking about special touches, did anyone else notice those cute cake figurines? Little nods to Phoebe and Kiko, who made a cross-country journey to be part of the wedding.
Now, the weather on the day was, let’s say, a tad unpredictable. Mother Nature graced us with a summer storm right after our ‘first look’ photos. But then, as if on cue, the skies cleared up just in time for the ceremony. And just when we thought we were in the clear, the storm made its dramatic comeback post-cocktail hour. But hey, isn’t there something so romantic about rain on a wedding day?
On a personal note, I remember how we took a detailed walkthrough of the venue before the big day. Given the weather’s whims, we made sure we had backup plans. And it’s moments like these that I cherish—the behind-the-scenes, where we prepare for every eventuality, ensuring everything goes off without a hitch.
Here’s what the lovely brides had to say about our time together: “Erica, you’re truly AMAZING! Your photos are gorgeous, but it’s your genuine care and warmth that stands out. On a day that could easily get overwhelming, you were our calming anchor. Being in front of the camera isn’t our thing, but you changed that. You had us laughing and feeling comfortable throughout. We’re so grateful you were there for our special day. Honestly, we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. A massive thank you, Erica, for everything!”
Cheers to Kristen, Keanna, Phoebe, and Kiko. Wishing you all endless love, joy, and epic adventures. It’s been an absolute pleasure to be a part of your love story.
