There is something especially timeless about golden hour at the Bon Air Rose Garden. As the sun lowers and the light softens, the garden feels calm, warm, and inviting. This mini session took place during a beautiful September evening, when the roses were still in bloom and the air felt just right.
Golden hour mini sessions are designed to be relaxed and natural. This session was no exception. With gentle direction and plenty of space to move, we focused on connection, laughter, and being present together.
September evenings bring some of the best light of the year. The sun filters through the trees, wraps softly around faces, and creates a warm glow that feels effortless on camera. At the Bon Air Rose Garden, that light pairs beautifully with winding paths, archways, and bursts of color from late-season blooms.
This session flowed easily from one spot to the next. Nothing felt rushed. That slower pace allows families to settle in, especially during shorter mini sessions.
Mini sessions may be brief, but they can still hold depth and variety. During this session, we focused on a mix of full-family portraits and individual moments. Quiet interactions, shared smiles, and natural movement brought the images to life.
The garden setting offered plenty of visual interest without overwhelming the experience. It allowed the family to simply enjoy their time together while I documented what unfolded naturally.
Golden hour mini sessions are ideal for families who want beautiful images without a long time commitment. The light does much of the work, creating a flattering and cohesive look across the gallery.
These sessions are especially popular in early fall. The temperatures are comfortable, the colors are rich, and the pace feels calm after the busyness of summer.

Golden hour mini sessions return each year and locations vary throughout the season. The best way to stay informed about upcoming dates and locations is through my newsletter, where subscribers receive early access and first booking opportunities.
