I loved every minute of planning and photographing Jack’s Jamestown senior pictures. I first met Jack a few years ago when I photographed his older sister’s engagement portraits. Then I shot his family’s holiday photos that winter. It was so fun catching up with them and seeing how Jack has grown into his element as a senior. I’ve had Jack in front of my camera a few times before, but never as the main star. Luckily, breaking through that senior tough guy shell was easy, and our session produced SO MANY great shots!
Senior sessions are so special. I like to spend a good amount of time really getting to know your seniors and molding their session around their and personality and interests. When Jack chose baseball, western wear, the classic black suit, and his pup Harley as what’s most important to him, it was so easy to build the ideal session for him.
We selected two very different locations for Jack’s Jamestown senior pictures. We started at a local park that has a grand baseball stadium and public horse rings. These really tied in well with some of Jack’s favorite outfit choices: his boots, hat, & that vintage western sweater.
Then we moved to the downtown street of Richmond for some more urban-chic style. We didn’t get to spend as much time downtown as I would have liked. However, one of my favorite selling points of the area is how much variety you have in a single location. We were able to get all our outfit changes and location plans accomplished just minutes before a monsoon-like storm rolled through the city at flood-watch speeds.
I’m really so thankful to have amazing families like Jack’s that keep coming back to me year after year to document their milestones from Senior Portraits, Holidays, Engagements, & Weddings!
